SFDA warns against Jif peanut butter products

May 24, 2022

RIYADH — The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has warned against Jif peanut butter products, which have batch numbers starting from (1274425) to batch number (2140425), produced in the United States of America, due to the possibility of contamination with salmonella bacteria.

The batch number can be identified by the product packaging below the expiry date as the attached photo shows.

The SFDA confirmed that it is taking necessary measures to ensure that local markets are free of products with the batch numbers warned against.

It also recommends consumers to avoid consuming these products for the specified batch numbers, and to get rid of what they have in order to preserve their health, noting that it is following up on developments in this matter.

The SFDA also indicated that food contaminated with salmonella bacteria causes symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea in most cases. — SPA
