RIYADH — As the summer advances into the Kingdom, the region’s largest hypermarket chain LuLu comes up with a wonderful way to celebrate the king of fruits with the much-anticipated “Kingdom of Mangoes 2022.”
The celebrations are being taken up a notch this year with over 80 different varieties of mangoes from all over the world. Throwing light on the locally sourced mangoes, there are 25 local varieties as well. There’s going to be a grand display and several activities the shoppers can be a part of. The promotion was inaugurated by Ram Prasad, charge d’affaires of the Republic of India to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, at LuLu Riyadh Avenue Mall Murabba. Ram Prasad highlighted the growing trade ties between India and Saudi Arabia across all sectors in the backdrop of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
He also highlighted the pride of place that the Indian mango enjoys in the country’s global export basket, as India accounts for 45% of global mango production.
As expected, there are many different varieties of mangoes ranging from Tottapuri, Neelam, Gudadath, Badami, Sindura, Thoomi, Samak and many more. The selection sourced locally from Saudi Arabia and across different countries such as India, Kenya and Thailand.

During the Kingdom of Mangoes, the stores will have sampling booths where shoppers can get a taste of the different delicacies and shoppers can stop by a unique selection of mango-based items and engage in some indulgence of this fruit.
The festival also offers various processed and packed mango products, ranging from jams to pickles, pulps, chutneys, and cakes to a widespread variety of different products.
