DAMMAM — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) clarified whether fees will be applied to devices that are transported by travelers from Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway.

The authority confirmed that travelers coming from Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway bringing purchases worth more than SR3,000, would be obliged to disclose it.

ZATCA noted that the fees that will be applied to travelers will only be applied to new items wrapped in factory packaging that have not been used yet.

It also indicated that travelers would be charged a value-added tax (VAT) of 15% on all imports they bring with them.
