Saudi Red Crescent receives Guinness World Record for ‘Saving a Soul’ campaign

RIYADH — The "Saving a Soul" awareness campaign launched recently by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has received a Guinness world record after succeeding in collecting 9,836 pledges through its website within 24 hours, where participants pledged to learn first aid and how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Spokesperson of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority Abdulaziz Al-Suwaine said that the campaign, which was held at Riyadh Front, witnessed big turnout from various segments of the society, including citizens and residents, who showed true will to learn first aid and ways to use AEDs that the authority installed in several public places to contribute to saving souls.

Al-Suwaine added that the campaign's page on the authority's website has received thousands of pledge over the last hours, noting that the success of the campaign in collecting this big number within this record time is a proof of high sense of responsibility of the Saudi society and the will of its individuals to always be ambassadors of life and influencers at the humanitarian level. — SPA
