Dr. Al-Qasabi: Saudi quality certificate was awarded to 481 facilities in 32 countries

MADINAH — Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi opened the 8th National Conference for Quality which is ongoing in this holy city of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah from June 6-8.

The event is being organized by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) under the theme "Sustainable Quality for an Ambitious Nation" at King Salman International Center for Conferences.

In a key address, Dr. Al-Qasabi drew the attention to the theme of this year's conference, "sustainable quality for an ambitious nation" in its capacity as one of the targets of the Kingdom Vision 2030.

This is endorsed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and adopted and launched by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to enhance the competitiveness ability for Saudi services and products.

Dr. Al-Qasabi disclosed that over the last two years, the Saudi quality certificate was awarded to 481 facilities in 32 countries of the world covering more than 120,000 products.

The minister toured the exhibition, which included more than 30 agencies in addition to a pavilion offering consultations in the field of quality displayed on the sidelines of the conference.

The conference is scheduled to hold more than 16 sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday during which more than 70 local and international speakers are set to address the sessions.

For their part, the Governor of SASO Dr. Saad Bin Othman and President for the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais also addressed the opening ceremony which took place Monday. — SPA
