Luton murder arrest after man is struck by car

LONDON — A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man who was hit by a car.

Police said the man in his 60s died shortly after emergency services arrived at Axe Close

Bedfordshire Police said officers were called to a disturbance on Axe Close in Luton at about 09:05 BST on Saturday.

Robert Duggan, 60, who lived on the road, was found badly injured and died shortly afterwards.

Detective Inspector Iain Macpherson said police were "carrying out numerous lines of enquiry" into the death and appealed for witnesses to get in touch.

The arrested man remains in police custody for questioning. — BBC
