RIYADH — The Riyadh police have announced that they had arrested 12 Yemeni nationals for creating fake electronic links similar to one of the government platforms.

The Riyadh Police said that 12 expatriates committed fraud by creating and broadcasting fake electronic links by promoting them and claiming that they are links to provide services.

It was found that the arrested expats were violators of the Kingdom's regulations, Riyadh police said.

It noted that 6 of the expatriates were violators of the border security regulations, and 6 of them were residents who violated the residency law (Iqama).

The police said that the 12 arrested expatriates had conned money from their victims and transferred it outside Saudi Arabia.

They had committed fraud by using a residential unit in Riyadh as the headquarters of their crimes. The police also seized 33 mobile phones, and SR15,616 from them.

The Riyadh Police confirmed that they have arrested 12 expatriates and taken legal measures against them, in addition to referring them to the Public Prosecution.
