Brussels airport expects severe disruption due to security personnel strike

June 19, 2022

BRUSSELS Brussels Airport Sunday announced that it expects severe disruption of airport operations on Monday due to a national manifestation and the strike of a large number of the security personnel.

"Current estimates indicate that passengers will have to wait up to 8 hours at the security screening. We therefore strongly advise passengers not to come to the airport and rebook their flights, if possible," it said in a statement posted on its website.

"If you still wish to depart please check your airline's website as many last-minute cancellations are expected. Please also check the status of your flight on Monday before coming to the airport," noted the statement.

"We ask passengers not to come to the airport any earlier, but two hours in advance for a Schengen flight and three hours in advance for a non-Schengen flight," added the statement. — Agencies
