RYADH — Prominent Saudi astronomer and weather and climate researcher Abdul Aziz Al-Hussaini expects that the regions of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf will witness on Tuesday climactic conditions from hot to very hot during the day and moderate weather in the morning.

He also said that dusty winds from medium to semi-strong force are expected to blow on parts of the center, west, north and east of the Kingdom and the Gulf.

He said that the western and southwestern highlands of the Kingdom, Yemen and parts of Oman would witness varying percentages of rains.

Al-Hussaini noted that the summer solstice, with the sun’s rays perpendicular to the Tropic of Cancer, south of Riyadh, is close to Hotat Bani Tamim, when the sun reaches the maximum extent in the north of the globe.

He added that this phenomenon means that the summer has entered astronomically in the north of the Earth, where Tuesday, June 21, is considered the longest day of the year.

It is noteworthy that the National Meteorological Center (NCM) predicted, during its weather report, that hot to very hot weather will continue in parts of eastern and central Saudi Arabia Tuesday.

The NCM noted that the opportunity is still ripe for the appearance of rainy thunderclouds accompanied by active winds on the heights of the regions of Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha, and this may also extend to the heights of the Makkah and Madinah regions.

The eastern, central and southwestern regions of Saudi Arabia will witness a continuation of the impact of dusty plankton, the NCM said, adding that parts of the northern border and Al-Jouf will witness an activity in the surface winds that raise dirt and dust.
