Makkah Emir Prince Khaled inspects Holy Sites

MAKKAH — Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, governor of Makkah Region, and president of the Central Hajj Committee, extended gratitude to the wise leadership for the great care and interest to the Two Holy Mosques and what it provided of potential to serve pilgrims.

Prince Khaled made his remarks while checking on the Holy Sites and preparations to receive pilgrims and while chairing a meeting for the Central Hajj Committee at Mina.

The governor of Makkah Region highlighted the importance of joining efforts to serve pilgrims and offer them the best services to perform their rituals easily, noting that only one million pilgrims, including 150,000 from inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 850,000 from outside, will perform this year’s Hajj due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his tour, Prince Khaled visited development projects at the Holy Sites, mainly developing the area surrounding Al-Rahmah Mountain and developing the infrastructure of Arafat and advanced tents at Mina, in addition to checking the preparation of Muzdalifah.

At the end of the tour, Prince Khaled chaired a meeting for the Central Hajj Committee at Muzdalifah and was briefed on the preparations of stakeholders to serve pilgrims. — SPA
