RIYADH — Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf praised Saudi Arabia’s announcement of a new set of development projects in Yemen.
The new $400 million projects are set to be implemented by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY), in addition to $200 million to provide oil derivatives to operate power stations, to meet the priority needs of the Yemeni people and alleviate their suffering.
The projects was announced by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense, during a meeting with Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi.
The GCC Secretary-General lauded the Kingdom’s great efforts in all aspects of political, development, and relief support through the projects implemented by the SDRPY to help the Yemeni people in all Yemeni governorates. He stressed the solidarity of the GCC countries with the Yemeni people and their support for them to achieve their aspirations for stability, peace, security and development in all fields. — SPA
