MINA - Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel made an inspection tour of hospitals in Makkah and the Holy Sites on Thursday to follow up the workflow of the health facilities to serve the Hajj pilgrims.

The minister kicked off his tour with a visit to Mina Al-Wadi Hospital where he followed up the progress of work and the treatment services that the hospital is providing during the Hajj season. Al-Wadi Hospital has a capacity of about 160 beds, in addition to the presence of 24 beds in the hospital's emergency department, six beds for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), four beds for suspected cases of respiratory diseases, in addition to four beds for dialysis.

The number of beds allocated for intensive care in Al-Wadi Hospital reached 25, while 24 beds for heat stroke, in addition to 15 outpatient clinics in the hospital. The number of employees assigned to Al-Wadi Hospital has reached more than 550 employees working around the clock, including administrative, technical and medical personnel.

The minister also visited the emergency complex in Al-Mu'aisem during his tour, which included a visit to the exhibition hall in the complex in addition to the mortuary in the emergency complex. The emergency complex was opened in Al-Ma’aisem during the Hajj season of 1417 AH, and it is considered as one of the vital and important facilities of the healthcare in Makkah and the Holy Sites.

The complex continue rendering services throughout the year and it is represented by the Regional Forensic Medical Center in Makkah and the Department of Mortality Affairs in Makkah, especially during the Hajj season, represented by the forensic medical team. The services that are provided in the complex at present are three main sections, namely, the Forensic Medicine Center in Makkah, through which it provides services related to forensic medicine in the event of any emergency situation or crisis resulting in deaths outside the Hajj season, in addition to the Department of Mortality Affairs in Makkah Health.

The complex also provides services related to deaths, including supervising the forensic deaths refrigerator and embalming work throughout the year. The complex also follows up the work of the mortality departments in Makkah hospitals, as well as the forensic medical team that deals with emergency or crisis cases that resulted in many deaths during the Hajj season.
