Commerce Ministry ensures abundant quantity of food supplies at Holy Sites

MINA The Ministry of Commerce announced the success of its plan of making available sufficient quantity of food supplies at the Holy Sites during the Hajj season. The ministry witnessed abundance in the supply of all commodities and food items provided to the pilgrims and their access to them with ease.

The ministry noted that it had monitored more than 98.5 million meals and food products at the Holy Sites during the Hajj season, supplied through 394 outlets, represented by commercial facilities, refrigerated trucks, roving cars, catering cars and the like, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The ministry said that its staff inspected and followed up on the abundance of food commodities for the pilgrims, which consisted of more than 32 million loaves of bread, more than 31 million packets of cold water, and 24.8 million packets of juices, refreshments and dairy products, in addition to 6.8 millions of ready-made meals, and more than three million ice cream packets.
