Health minister: Saudi-US cooperation seeks to promote public health, develop research and innovation

JEDDAH — The Minister of Health Fahd Bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel praised the health cooperation between Saudi Arabia and United States, pointing out that the US is an important strategic partner in the transformation of the health sector in the Kingdom.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he disclosed that the memorandum of cooperation that will be signed with the US side comes as a continuation of the fruitful and historical partnership extending for several decades between the two countries in the health sector.

He affirmed that this memorandum comes within the framework of the Kingdom's interest in promoting public health, developing health care services, and developing research and innovation in the health field.

The memorandum includes partnership in combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, developing human capital, developing health information systems.

It also supports research and innovation in the health field, and other aspects of partnership and cooperation that contribute to enabling the transformation process in the health sector in the Kingdom. — SPA
