RIYADH — The Civil Defense Directorate has urged the public to take utmost vigil and caution while venturing out during rain amid a forecast of moderate to heavy rain likely to hit many parts of the Kingdom from Wednesday until Sunday.
The directorate said while quoting the National Center of Meteorology report, that the regions of Asir, Najran, Jazan, Al-Baha, and Makkah would receive moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by storms that may lead to torrential flow during the period. Moderate rain is likely in the regions of Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Qassim, Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and the Northern Borders Region during the period.
Col. Muhammad Al Hammadi, spokesman of the Civil Defense Directorate, called on the public to take utmost caution against potential dangers in such inclement weather conditions. He urged people to stay away from places where torrents gather, as well as from flood passages and valleys.
The spokesman underlined the need to abide by the instructions of the Civil Defense announced through various media and social networking sites to safeguard their lives and properties.
