International Auction of Falcon Farms 10-day fiesta ends with sale of 3 falcons for SR262,000

RIYADH — The sale of three falcons for a total worth of SR262,000 brought down the curtains on the International Auction of Falcon Farms 10-day fiesta, which saw the staging of the Saudi International Falcon and Hunting Exhibition.

The International Auction of Falcon Farms, in its second edition, was organized by the Saudi Falcons Club and it officially concluded at its headquarters in Mulham in the north of Riyadh, the exclusive event.

The second edition of auction is considered as the biggest falcon auction in the world, as it hosted more than 40 of the leading production farms from more than 17 different countries around the world. The most notable of which are: United States; Germany; Spain and Britain.

The first falcon that was sold on the last day's auction was a chick falcon "Hurr min Hurr" from the German Houbara Falcons farm. Its base auction price started at SR50,000, then the bidding continued until it was sold for SR177,000.

The second falcon, another chick falcon "Hurr min Hurr" was sold to the same German farm, Houbara Falcons, for SR51,000.

While the auction ended with the sale of the third falcon, which too was a chick falcon "Hurr min Hurr", and was sold to the German SSS FALCON farm for SR34,000.

It is noteworthy that the auction has provided a reliable platform, through which it added the different types of falcons of rare breeds that won international championships, and also organized a daily live auction, bringing together elite falconers from around the world, producers and all falcons lovers.
