First batch of Saudi Aid Airlift arrives in Pakistan

KARACHI — One relief airplane, carrying more than 90 tons of food, shelter and health aid, to benefit more than 9,500 affected people, arrived here Tuesday.

The airplane represents the first batch of the Saudi aid airlift to support those affected by the torrential rains and floods in Pakistan which is being dispatched by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

The airplane was received by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Malki, Saudi Consul General in Karachi Bandar Bin Fahd Al-Dayel, and Minister for Labour and Human Resources Saeed Ghani of Sindh Province.

Ambassador Al-Malki said that the humanitarian aid provided by Saudi Arabia to the Pakistani people comes to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the torrential rains and floods that hit a number of Pakistani cities and regions.

This aid comes as part of the great humanitarian role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, towards the brotherly and friendly countries. — SPA
