JEDDAH — Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, received on Saturday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Jeddah.
The German Chancellor begins a two-day tour of the Gulf region.
Crown Prince welcomed the German Chancellor to the Kingdom, while the Chancellor expressed his happiness to visit Saudi Arabia and meet with Crown Prince.
Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to the Chancellor who sent his greetings to the King.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of Saudi-German relations, areas of partnership between the two countries, prospects for bilateral cooperation and opportunities for their development in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
They also reviewed the latest developments at the regional and international levels and efforts to achieve international stability and peace and exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.
Also, Crown Prince and the German Chancellor met businessmen from the Saudi and German sides.
Prince Mohmmed also held a working luncheon for the German Chancellor before he left Jeddah.
Earlier, Saudi Press Agency said that Scholz arrived on Saturday to Saudi Arabia “on a working visit.”
Upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, the German Chancellor was received by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region; Mohammed Al-Jadaan, minister of finance who will serve as accompanying minister of the visiting delegation, and a number of senior officials.
The German Chancellor will also visit the UAE and Qatar in the next two days.
