JEDDAH — A medical team at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah has successfully rescued a pregnant woman and her fetus after being hurt in a serious accident in the city.

The pregnant woman was trying to cross the street but was run over by a car, which led to the amputation of her entire hand.

The patient was referred to the hospital emergency unit as a critical condition that required saving the life of the mother and her fetus, Jeddah Health said/

It confirmed that a medical team was urgently formed as soon as the mother arrived and took her to the operating room.

Jeddah Health indicated that the operation took 6 continuous hours, as an urgent surgery was performed to repair the amputated organs, and to restore the hand to its previous position.

As for the fetus, Jeddah Health confirmed that the obstetricians and gynecologists conducted the necessary medical examinations to follow up on his health.

It noted that the patient was allowed to leave the hospital, confirming that her health condition is stable.
