Al-Khuwaitm turns in golden display in Girls Gymnastics Championship in Riyadh

RIYADH — The Saudi Gymnastics Federation concluded on Saturday the second session of the Kingdom’s Championship for Girls’ Clubs and Bodies with the participation of 9 clubs in Riyadh.

The tournament kicked off last Thursday at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh and included the participation of girls of 7 to 8 years old of age.

The head of the Saudi Gymnastics Federation Sulaiman Al-Jasser crowned the winning girls from the first three centers in the tournament. The first place was taken by Riyadh Center, the second place was won by Movement Symbol Center and the third place went to Expressions Center.

In the general individual places, Munira Al-Khuwaitm from (Riyadh Center) won the gold medal, while Hadeel Al-Kabeer from (Riyadh Center) took the silver medal, and Kadi Abdulmajeed from (The Movement Symbol Center) bagged the bronze medal.

The Executive Director of the Saudi Gymnastics Federation Rakan Al-Fuhaid said that the Saudi Gymnastics Federation was very keen to organize the tournament for the second time due to its great interest in women's sports.

He also indicated that the federation was very motivated by the efforts made by the female players during the previous tournaments, and their seriousness in the competition throughout their participation in it.

The Kingdom's championship is only the beginning, Al-Fuhaid said, stressing that the federation intends to organize more women's tournaments in various disciplines of gymnastics, in order to increase the number of exercises, in addition to encouraging female players.
