JEDDAH — Jeddah Municipality has announced the evacuation of 180 sites designated for workers’ housing. This came during the field tours to ensure the implementation of the requirements for collective housing for individuals and the safety of its licenses.

The municipality has conducted its field tours in cooperation with several government agencies, as the advisor to the Jeddah Mayor Mohammad Al-Zahrani indicated that the field tours included 934 sites in different neighborhoods of the city of Jeddah.

Al-Zahrani explained that these tours seek to contribute several things, most notably: raising the compliance level in the workers’ housing sites, in addition to examining and sterilizing them.

Jeddah municipality has issued violations with fines in accordance with the municipal requirements list, he said.

He confirmed that the work is still going on to monitor and strictly enforce the system on all collective housing for individuals.

The Jeddah Municipality urged the owners of the violating sites to quickly pay the financial fines applied to them, as well as to immediately evict the unlicensed workers’ housing sites, and to correct the status of the violations of the licensed sites, in order to avoid the application of penalties to them.
