RIYADH — A research team that included Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Anazi from the College of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering at King Saud University, has won the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW).

The prestigious prize for water research was awarded to University of Cincinnati's research professor Dionysios Dionysiou, Dr. Al-Anazi, and his colleagues at UC, for their work developing advanced oxidation technologies and nanotechnologies to monitor and treat emerging toxins and other contaminants of emerging concern in water.

It is noteworthy that the 20 years old award is a Saudi scientific award established by Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Oct. 21, 2002. With the victory of Dr. Al-Anazi and his team, they become the winners in the tenth year of the award.

The PSIPW award is held every two years, and there are 4 specialized prizes: Surface Water, Groundwater, Alternative Water Resources, Water Management and Protection, and there is the prestigious prize called the Creativity Prize which was won by Dr. Al-Anazi and his team.

Dr. Al-Anazi is an academic at King Saud University, he is a mechanical engineer and holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering.
