Ministry conducts 29,000 price monitoring operations in one week

The Ministry of Commerce inspection teams have implemented more than 18,000 tours to monitor markets and prices in all regions of Saudi Arabia during the first week of October.

RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce has announced that its inspection teams have implemented more than 18,000 tours to monitor markets and prices in all regions of Saudi Arabia during the first week of October.

The tours included 1,305 field visits to monitor prices, during which teams carried out 29,000 operations for checking on prices of goods and products in all points of sale.

The ministry follows up on the prices of 278 basic commodities through monitoring the prices in all regions and uploading them on an electronic system to follow up on the prices accurately.

These visits aim at monitoring markets and checking on levels of prices, following up on the availability of products and ensuring having multiple suppliers, the availability of alternative products with high quality.

This is in addition to ensuring compliance of commercial facilities with the ministry’s regulations to protect and preserve consumers rights.

The ministry also called on consumers to report commercial violations through the unified number 1900 or “Balagh Tijari” (commercial report) application. — SPA
