Indonesian trade promotion center announces annual expo; highlights consistent support from Saudi Arabia

October 13, 2022

Under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and hosted by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, the 37th edition of Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) will commence on October 19; welcoming buyers, delegations, traders, and visitors to the annual trade exhibition in BSD City at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE).

This will be the TEI’s first physical happening since the global COVID-19 pandemic forced the convention to turn strictly-digital up until this year, and under the fitting theme of: Strengthening Global Trade for Stronger Recovery.

The theme is chosen to align with the theme of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency “Recover Together, Recover Stronger” where Indonesia aims for the world’s recovery from the negative impacts and continuing reverberations of the recent pandemic by focusing on three priority issues; strengthening global health system, digital transformation, and energy transition.

The expo, which will be accessible via both the convention’s physical venue and digital means, will present participants with a large variety of carefully-selected and quality-ensured Indonesian products, covering sectors such as healthcare, food & beverage, fashion & beauty, manufactured goods, and much more.

Looking back to last year, the 36th TEI hosted over 30,000 digital visitors and over $5 billion worth of transactions. With the return of the physical event this year, while maintaining digital access, the 37th TEI is expected to be greater in all aspects.

In collaborative efforts between the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the kingdom’s governing bodies relating to trade, Saudi Arabia’s private sector has been a frequent and consistent participant of TEI. And with the kingdom’s strong digital culture and infrastructure, Saudi businesses can seamlessly reap the benefits of the annual event through its digital form.

At the same time, Saudi businesses are welcome to make the trip to Indonesia and experience the expo up-close and personal, and discover the best of Indonesian trade and culture.

Accompanying China and India, Saudi Arabia has consistently been a leading supporter, beneficiary and benefactor, of TEI through the years, even through the global pandemic struggle.

On opening day as well, the Trade Tourism Investment Forum (TTI) will present ministerial-level panels to discuss the most pressing issues relating to global economic acceleration, trade, and tourism at both regional and international levels.

Business-counseling sessions, business-matching meetings, and informative seminars by field experts are also on the agenda for the 5-day convention at ICE.

The physical 37th TEI will run from October 19 to 23, while the digital version will remain active until December 19.
