RIYADH — Riyadh opened its third Season on Friday by entering the Guinness Book of Records.
The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) said that the Riyadh Season had set a new Guinness record, achieving the most remote operated multirotors/drones launching fireworks simultaneously.
The record registration certificate was delivered by a representative of Guinness Book of Records to the authority's official during the opening ceremony of the Riyadh Season.
The Riyadh Season, in its third edition under the slogan "Above Imagination", was launched on Friday by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GEA Turki Al-Sheikh, in the presence of thousands of visitors and foreign diplomats.
The huge opening ceremony witnessed many new activities and entertainments that fulfilled the meaning of the Season's new logo, including as the first show in the Middle East of more than 3,200 drones.
Additionally, a spectacular fireworks display, a dazzling performance conducted by Cirque du Soleil, as well as the participation of the British pop star Anne-Marie in the ceremony.
The Season will include more than 8,500 activity days and experiences across 15 venues, each of which with a special entertainment feature.
The activities include 108 interactive experiences, 7 international exhibitions, two international football matches, WWE contests, and 17 Arab plays, in addition to events and shows in various zones in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The venues of Riyadh Season 2022 are Boulevard World, Boulevard Riyadh City, Winter Wonderland, Al Murabaa, Sky Riyadh, Via Riyadh, Riyadh Zoo, Little Riyadh, The Groves, Imagination Park, Al-Suwaidi Park, Souq Al Zel, Qariat Zaman, Fan Festival and Riyadh Front.
