October 31, 2022

BEIJING Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday urged the US to carefully study the report of the ruling Communist Party's recent congress if it really wants to understand Beijing, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Wang made remarks during a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, as the top US diplomat told Wang that Washington pays close attention to the 20th National Congress on Oct. 16-22 and its report.

He warned the US against making conjectures by "looking through tinted glasses and allowing ideological biases to cloud its eyes," according to the report, which underlined the "open and transparent" foreign policies of China.

On bringing China-US relations" back to the track of stable development," he said such an event would not only serve the common interests of China and the US, but also meets the common expectations of the international community.

On a US decison to adopt new export control regulations against Beijing and restrict its investment in China, the minister said the measrue "seriously violates free trade rules and gravely undermines China's legitimate rights and interests."

For his part, Blinken said the world is looking forward to US-China cooperation, adding Washington stands ready to maintain communication and cooperation with Beijing. Agencies
