Saudi Arabia to Host 6th Gulf Theater Festival for Persons with Disabilities

RIYADHSaudi Arabia, represented by the Authority of People with Disability (APD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, will host the 6th Gulf Theater Festival for People with Disabilities, which will be held in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The activities of the festival will begin with the opening ceremony and the first theatrical performance on Saturday, December 3 for seven days at the theater of Princess Nourah bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh.

Each participating country will have a day to perform in the theater, as the festival aims to showcase the talents of persons with disabilities from the GCC countries and the successful experiences of theatrical performances. The festival also aims to promote the participation of people with disabilities and their inclusion in cultural activities.

Saudi Arabia will review a number of technical, cultural, and social programs related to persons with disabilities as well as activate the comprehensive participation of persons with disabilities within society.

It is noteworthy that APD is a Saudi government agency aimed at empowering persons with disabilities, ensuring that they have their rights, enhancing their role in society. and working to develop services that the agencies provide to them.
