MAKKAH — The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, represented by the agency of services and realizing environmental prevention, has provided an electric vehicle to transport the elderly and people with disabilities while performing Tawaf (circumambulation) at the Grand Mosque.

The vehicle is 2.98 meters in length and 1 meter in width and is operated through 8 dry batteries that accord with the global safety standards and has an operational capacity of up to 30 kilometers.

The vehicle was provided with front sensors to prevent collision while using hallways and to control speed inside any crowded area and other sensors for automatic stop and a high-tech steering wheel and sensors.

The vehicle is made of fiber glass in a modern design with the highest standards of safety and security and was designed with a limited height for doors in a way that guarantees passengers are within the boundaries of the vehicle.

It also has the capacity to carry 7 passengers excluding the driver and to turn around itself with 360 degrees in narrow places to avoid reversing, which allows it to enter big elevators and smooth movement inside tracks of tawaf, and its ability to reduce shocks on bumpy floors. — SPA
