RIYADH — Justice Minister Walid Al-Samaani has announced the launch of the Law Practice Portal during a speech at the Saudi Law Conference.

He asserted the lawyer’s role as the ministry’s partner and the efforts to support lawyers through training and legal services.

“Lawyers have to keep track of the recent specialized legislations announced by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister," Al-Samaani said.

“The recently issued legislations, such as the Law of Evidence and the Personal Status Law, will be followed by the Law of Civil Transactions and the Penal Code,” he added, explaining that they will be accompanied by relevant guides, rules and annotations.

“There will also be a review to the implementing regulations for the Code of Law Practice,” he added, highlighting the importance of developing the law practice to support the business climate.

“The impact of licensing international law firms will contribute to the development of the practice and boost the business and investment environment in the Kingdom,” he explained.

He also noted that law practice qualifications in the future will also include skills related to accounting, finance and technology, in addition to the required legal studies. — SPA
