ABHA — Aseer Region Governor Prince Turki Bin Talal, chairman of the Development Authority, will sponsor the launch of the scientific sessions, workshops, and exhibitions accompanying the "Aseer Investment Forum", to be held at King Khalid University in Abha.

Minister of Investment Eng. Khaled Al-Falih, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololikashvili will be attending.

The forum will discuss means to enhance investment opportunities in the promising economic sectors in the Aseer region, by reviewing the strategy of the Aseer region, the investment system in the region, and the projects of the Public Investment Fund, in addition to a presentation on investment incentives in Aseer.

The forum also includes workshops in various aspects, including culture, heritage, sports, entertainment, hospitality, agricultural tourism, and the food and beverage sector.

The Aseer region embraces many development projects that are currently being implemented to enhance the region's position in the health, educational and tourism aspects, mainly the King Faisal Medical City (KFMC).

The KFMC is expected to become a world-class medical city, a partnership between the Ministry of Health and the National Center for Privatization, and will provide specialized health care services and add 1,024 beds.

The region will also include a second industrial city project, which will be built on an area of 19.2 million square meters and was launched by the Aseer Development Authority in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and MODON.

This aims to encourage and attract investment in the industrial zone, in addition to harnessing its resources to contribute to the development of the national economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Moreover, the Ministry of Transport is currently implementing two projects, the first aims to provide faster and safer access to different areas within the Aseer region, while the other project aims to develop a highway between Aseer and Riyadh.

These projects will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the region in ease of connection with the market as well as in transportation and logistics. — SPA
