Riyadh mayor launches solar energy project

RIYADH —
Riyadh Mayor Prince Faisal Bin Ayyaf launched on Sunday the solar energy project at the building of the Operation and Maintenance Agency.

Riyadh Municipality stressed that they have installed photovoltaic panels as umbrellas to generate energy in the northern parking lots of the Operation and Maintenance Agency building.

There are 374 public parking, and 4 parking for the electric vehicles, noting that it will work to reduce electricity consumption by up to 40%.

This will also contribute in benefiting from the energy to charge electric vehicles, Riyadh Municipality said.

It is worth mentioning that Riyadh Municipality mentioned that the project area is 7,135 square meters, and the number of photovoltaic panels is 3,546, with 405 Watt for each panel.

It added that the step of launching the solar energy project will contribute in making buildings eco-friendly.
