JEDDAH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) alerted about the possibility of rainy weather in most regions of Saudi Arabia until the end of next week.
The center called on the public to be of utmost caution and vigil about potential risks in such an atmosphere. It urged people to stay away from places such as valleys where torrents gather and not to venture out to cross them. All are requested to adhere to the instructions issued by the concerned authorities through various media and social networking sites, the NCM said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.
Moderate to heavy rain will hit regions of Hail and Al-Qassim and most of their governorates starting from Friday and Saturday. There is a possibility for rain in the governorates of Zulfi, Shaqra, Majma’a, Ramah, Al-Dawadmi, Afif, Al-Muzahimiyah, Al-Quwaiyah and Al-Kharj in the Riyadh region, as well as in the governorates of Jubail, Nairiyah, Qatif, Dammam, Dhahran, Al-Khobar, Abqaiq and Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province. There is a possibility for torrential rains, hail, active wind, sandstorms, and low visibility in these regions, the center warned.
The NCM forecast indicated that moderate rains will hit parts of the Eastern Province, including Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Khafji, and Qaryat Al-Olaya, as well as in Sakaka and Dumat Al-Jandal in the Al-Jouf region and Rafha and Arar in the Northern Borders Region.
There is expected formation of rainy thunderclouds accompanied by active winds in parts of the regions of Asir including Abha, Al-Namas, Balqarn, Al-Majardah, Mahail, Bariq, Tanumah, and Al-Barak, as well as in parts of the Jazan region such as Fifa, Al-Khouba, Al-Ardah, Haroub, Al-Harth, Al-Dair, Al-Darb, Bish, Sabya, and Al-Shaqiq, in addition to Baljurashi, Al-Mandaq, and Al-Qura in Al-Baha region.
