RIYADH — The size of the importing mobile communications devices market in Saudi Arabia exceeded SR20 billion in 2021, as 12.4 million devices have been imported, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission revealed.

The statistics report issued by the commission clarified that among more than 53 million devices connected to the network, thre are 40 million smartphones.

It is noteworthy that the commission in cooperation with several sectors, has launched Wednesday the second phase of the recycling electronic devices initiative (Recycle Your Device).

This comes within the framework of its societal responsibilities to raise awareness among individuals and establishments regarding their importance role towards recycling their e-devices to achieve environmental sustainability.

Recycle Your Device initiative aims to recycle all types of devices such as tablets, printers, laptops and desktop computers, mobile phones, modems and landline phones.

The recycling process will be completed by fixing the devices, then it will be donated to the needy families, or recycling and destroying them according to specialized methods and means.

The total number of the devices donated has reached 36.230 devices.
