ALULA — AlUla Old Town has been selected as global destination in the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)’s list of the 32 best tourism villages in 2022, the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) announced.

RCU made the announcement on its official account on Twitter, clarifying that AlUla's selection to be among the 32 best tourism villages in 2022 came as result for applying comprehensive tourism for villages through conservation and restoration.

This also came as a result of encouraging the local economy by promoting agriculture, and developing the services and visitor experience.

It is noteworthy that AlUla Old Town includes 900 houses made of mud bricks, in addition to 400 stores, 5 squares, winding alleys, and also windows overlooking hidden passages.
