RIYADH — The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has launched the "Absher Travel" service, which will enable citizens and residents to book an appointment before moving to the land ports.
Capt. Nasser Al-Otaibi, spokesman of Jawazat, made the statement to Al-Ekhbariya, during the 8th version of Absher Forum, which was inaugurated on Wednesday in Riyadh. It witnessed the launch of several services including Absher Travel service.
The first phase of Absher Travel will enable citizens and residents to book an appointment before moving to the Jawazat of King Fahd Causeway before departing to Bahrain, Al-Otaibi said, confirming that the next phases will be announced soon.
He said that this service would send a notification to the beneficiaries to alert them in case there is traffic congestion on the causeway, as it will contribute in reducing waiting time.
The Jawazat has also launched a service to pay the government payments within Absher platform for the services of issuing and renewing Saudi passport, which would facilitate the payment process of renewing the passport electronically.
