JEDDAH —
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) raised the rain alert level in Jeddah to a warning late Thursday.

The weather warning will remain active until Friday morning at 11 am.

Some flights at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah were delayed due to the current ‘weather conditions’.

The airport asked travelers to communicate airlines to receive the new flight departure times.

The center expected that Jeddah would witness thunderstorms and heavy rains accompanied by activity in surface winds and hail, in addition to high waves, and torrential rain, and also there will be a lack of visibility.

The crisis and disaster management center at Makkah emirate has stressed the importance of not leaving homes during NCM's warning unless essential.

"People must take care and not approach the sites where rainwater accumulates to ensure their safety," the center warned.

The Jeddah Municipality has readied its equipment and manpower to deal with any emergencies from the rain.
