Saudi Arabia, Bahrain sign MoU for cooperation in human rights

MANAMA — The Saudi Human Rights Commission (HRC) and the National Institution for Human Rights of Bahrain signed here on Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of human rights.

The MoU is co-signed by HRC President Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri and President of the National Institution for Human Rights in Bahrain Eng. Ahmed Al-Darazi.

During the meeting, Al-Tuwaijri affirmed the depth of the fraternal relations that bind Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, indicating that this MoU comes within the framework of the HRC's approach aimed at strengthening its cooperation with various partners as well as local, regional and international agencies and organizations in the field of human rights.

The MoU will build the capacity of both sides in various fields of human rights, share relevant research experiences, spread a culture of human rights and awareness-raising, and organize seminars, lectures and joint training programs. — SPA
