3 arrested for attempting to smuggle over 3m tablets of amphetamine

RIYADH — Three citizens were arrested for attempting to smuggle 3,049,451 tablets of amphetamine, Muhammad Al-Nujaidi, spokesman for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control announced.

The spokesman said that the security follow-up to the drug smuggling and promotion networks targeting the security of Saudi Arabia and its youth resulted in thwarting this huge quantity of amphetamine tablets.

In cooperation with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), he said that they have found the amphetamine tablets hidden inside a truck.

Three citizens, who were receiving this quantity in Riyadh and Al-Sharqiyah, were arrested, the spokesman said, confirming that they have taken preliminary legal procedures against them, and also they have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
