RIYADH — Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman held a meeting on Thursday in Riyadh with Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom.

The two ministers stressed the relations between the two countries and discussed areas of bilateral cooperation in different energy fields as well as future opportunities in the sector through the MoUs between the Saudi and UK governments.

The two sides discussed areas of cooperation in the field of clean hydrogen as well as the development and localization of technologies related to carbon capture, utilization, and storage. They also discussed exchanging related expertise, conducting joint research and developing related regulations and policies.

Furthermore, both ministers discussed areas of cooperation in renewable energy, petrochemicals, power plants, and the localization of energy components. They expressed their aspiration for Saudi and British companies to participate in the implementation of many related projects. — SG
