RIYADH — The Shoura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the establishment of IMF regional office in Saudi Arabia and supporting the IMF in the field of capacity development.
The Shoura Council, in its 18th Ordinary Session of the 3rd year under the chairmanship of its Deputy Speaker Dr. Mishal Bin Fahm Al-Sulami, approved the KSA-IMF MoU draft and discussed a number of other draft memorandums of understanding and agreements.
It voted to approve a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Competition of Saudi Arabia and the Competition Authority of Egypt on cooperation in the field of enhancing competition and combating monopolistic practices.
The Shoura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority of Saudi Arabia and the National Anti-Corruption Commission of Thailand in the field of preventing and combating corruption.
The Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the government Saudi Arabia and the government of South Africa for cooperation in the field of social development.
It also approved a draft cooperation agreement between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of Egypt in the field of combating crime.
The Shoura Council approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Morocco in the field of mutual recognition of halal certificates for local products.
In the same session, the Council voted to approve a draft cooperation agreement between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of South Africa in the field of maritime transport.
The Council voted to approve a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman in the field of tourism.
It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture of the United Mexican States for cooperation in the cultural field. — SPA
