RIYADH — The culture and arts will be included in the Saudi educational curricula of all school stages soon, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for National Partnerships Noha Qattan said.
Speaking to Al-Ekhbariyah, Qattan said that the process of enhancing the inclusion of culture and arts in the school and public education as curricula comes within the joint initiatives between the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education.
“Today, there are many cultural fields, some in the extra-curricular activities, or some are limited in 1 or 2 subject,” shesaid, thus work is under way to add an integrated plan to include culture and arts curricula in all school stages.
Qattan said that they are working now on putting together everything that is required to include these curricula, whether through training teachers, or developing the contents and curricula, or even developing and rehabilitating an infrastructure to receive these kinds of curricula.
She confirmed that the strategy of including culture and arts in education curricula will start from the current year until 2024.
