RIYADH — Under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Acting Deputy Minister of Interior for Civil Status Lt. Gen. Sulaiman Al-Yahya launched four new electronic services related to Civil Status of Saudi citizens through the Ministry of Interior’s Absher electronic platform.

The new services included the service of requesting delivery of the national identity card (ID) while issuing it for the first issue via postal mail to the national address of the beneficiary. The Absher also launched service of activating the ID card electronically. The other services are the smart assistant service for uploading the personal image in the national identity services, and the launch of the service of ‘my updated data’.

Lt. Gen. Al-Yahya emphasized that the launching of the new services comes as an extension of the Minister of Interior’s support for digital transformation in the security sectors in general and the civil status sector in particular.

He said that the launched services would enable beneficiaries to apply for the service through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform Absher, and the Absher application for smart phones. “It comes within the advanced steps of electronic transactions to save time and effort as well as to improve the quality of civil status services provided to them,” he said.
