MADINAH —The second Saudi relief plane, carrying a consignment of relief supplies meant for the earthquake victims, arrived at Adana Airport in the earthquake-hit region of Turkey, on Thursday. The plane carries 98 tons of relief supplies, including food baskets, tents, shelter bags, blankets, and rugs, in addition to medical supplies.

The first Saudi relief plane arrived at Adana airport at dawn on Thursday. The plane carried specialized ambulance and rescue teams from several Saudi ministries and departments, as well as voluntary teams to participate in helping those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

The dispatch of relief supplies comes within the Saudi air bridge program, which was launched by the government of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief).

The KSRelief also launched on Wednesday a popular campaign, through the Sahem electronic platform, to help those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria. This was in the implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor at the Royal Court and general supervisor of the KSRelief, inaugurated the campaign at KSRelief headquarters in Riyadh.

It is noteworthy that this aid is within the framework of the humanitarian and relief initiatives, undertaken by Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the KSRelief, to support the affected and afflicted people in various parts of the world. This is an embodiment of the great humanitarian role played by Saudi Arabia towards friendly countries in tackling their crises and calamities.
