Prince Faisal discusses ways to strengthen political, security ties with global leaders in Munich

MUNICH — Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah met Friday with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2023 here.

During the meeting, they discussed the solid relations between the Kingdom and Germany and ways to strengthen and support ties, especially in the political, security, and economic fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and international efforts aimed at resolving the crisis politically to achieve international peace and security.

They discussed the latest developments concerning the Iranian nuclear program.

The two ministers also touched on various regional and international developments, including boosting efforts made by the two friendly countries to lay the foundations for peace.

Prince Faisal also met with Dr. Hannah Neumann, a member of the European Parliament, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2023 in Germany.

During the meeting, they discussed relations between the Kingdom and the European Union, and ways to enhance dialogue between the two sides on issues of common concern.

They also touched on the issues discussed at the Munich Security Conference, and the importance of strengthening multilateral action to achieve international peace and security.

Prince Faisal also met Palestine Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayye, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2023. During the meeting, the two sides touched on many issues and developments in the regional and international arenas.

They discussed the outcomes of the meeting that brought together Prince Faisal and the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit with the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Brussels.

The discussions were regarding ways to revive the peace process in the Middle East, under the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.

The Saudi foreign minister also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta Ian Burg in Munich. During the meeting, the two sides discussed means to enhance and develop bilateral relations in various fields, in addition to regional and international developments.

The two ministers touched on the key issues raised at the Munich Security Conference, and the importance of strengthening multilateral action in a way that enhances international peace and security.

Prince Faisal also met Friday with Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and means to enhance and develop them in various fields, in addition to discussing many regional and international developments.
