JEDDAH — The Jeddah Municipality has announced the launch of a field survey to develop the detailed comprehensive transport system plans.

This comes within a study project to develop and update the transportation model and the necessary tools to prepare a detailed comprehensive transportation plan. Jeddah Municipality has contracted with a company specialized in engineering consulting.

The municipality confirmed that the project would contribute in setting a future plan for the transportation system, as well as improving the quality of life.

The field surveys that the municipality will conduct is going to last for months, as it will include traffic counting and enumeration of the road network inside and outside Jeddah, in order to get to know the traffic volumes and its capacity.

The field work will include conducting interviews with the families in the houses with the aim of surveying the daily traffic trips of the population, then to set a future plan to facilitate these movements, and reduce the time duration of each trip.

The municipality has urged all agencies, citizens and residents to cooperate with its representatives from the (Business Statistical Research Corporation) in conducting the survey and providing them with the correct information to achieve the study' target.

It has also confirmed the necessity of checking on the identity of field researchers through the official card and the verification code placed on it.
