RIYADH — Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah met in Riyadh Monday with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, on the sidelines of the Third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
During the meeting, they reviewed the relations between the Kingdom and the United Nations and ways to enhance and develop them in several fields.
This is in addition to discussing aspects of joint work in terms of supporting humanitarian and relief work in various countries, and the prominent role of the Kingdom in this regard. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
Prince Faisal also met on Monday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.
During the meeting, the officials discussed cooperation relations and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields to serve the aspirations of the two countries.
This is in addition to discussing key developments at the regional and international arenas, and the efforts exerted in this regard.
The two sides also discussed aspects of intensifying joint coordination in the political field and consolidating economic cooperation to achieve common interests.
The meeting was also attended by the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati.
Prince Faisal also met in Riyadh with Director General of the International Organization for Migration Antonio Vitorino on the sidelines of the Third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
During the meeting, they reviewed the humanitarian and development efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia in various countries around the world.
This is in addition to discussing the importance of strengthening international cooperation in a way that contributes to protecting the rights of migrants.
The two sides also touched on several regional and international issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel and Saudi Arabia's permanent representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva Ambassador Abdulmohsen Bin Khothaila. — SPA
