RIYADH — The popular campaign for helping the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria has made 97% of the citizens and residents in Saudi Arabia feel proud for providing humane and noble values.
This percentage was revealed after the National Center for Public Opinion Surveys under King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, conducted a public opinion poll about the Saudi popular campaign, which was launched by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) to help and to alleviate the suffering of the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
The center said that 925 people throughout Saudi Arabia had participated in the survey, 55% of whom were men and 45% were women.
The survey has shown that 23% of those who participated in the survey displayed the desire to donate in the popular campaign, but fear that the procedures would be complicated.
Moreover, 90% believe that the transparency in confirming that donations reach those who deserve it, constitutes a motive for them to donate through the official platforms.
While 52% of the participants in the survey did not know that the donation via the Sahem platform does not require adding the personal information, such as their emails and their own phone number.
The center stated that 48% people were also not aware of the possibility of donating using the bank data and to be debited directly from it.
It is noteworthy that the donations of the popular campaign to help the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria has exceeded SR425 million.
