NAJRAN — A 12-year-old boy has accidentally ran a car over his father in Najran.

The official spokesman for the Saudi Red Crescent in Najran region said that the operations room received a report from a citizen at noon on Friday about a run-over accident and sent an ambulance team to the accident location.

“There the team found a 65-year-old injured person, who was suffering from serious injuries after being hit by a car,” he added.

He said that the injured person suffered from cardiac arrest, and he was immediately transferred to King Khalid Hospital to receive the necessary treatment, but he died later.

The family was on a picnic in King Fahd Park and the father wanted to train his 12-year-old son on how to drive a car. The boy left alone to drive and following a stretch of driving, he came back toward his father when he lost control of the car and ran his father over, Al-Watan newspaper reported.
