RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has appointed eminent Saudi media person Salman Al-Dossary as minister of media.

In royal decrees issued on Sunday, the King has made several other key appointments.

These include appointment of Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Harbi as deputy chief of the General Intelligence and Ibrahim Al-Sultan, minister of state and member of the Council of Ministers.

King Salman issued an order appointing Humoud Al-Muraikhi as advisor at the Royal Court with the rank of a minister.

The royal decrees also include the appointment of Rakan Al-Tauq as assistant minister of culture and Ismail Al-Ghamdi as assistant minister of Human Resources and Social Development for joint services in the excellent ranks.

Abdul Rahman Al-Harkan has been named governor of the State Properties General Authority.

Al-Dossary, who hails from Al-Khobar in the Eastern Province, is holder of a bachelor's degree in management and economics. He worked for the Ministry of Education. Later, he served as editor in chief of the pan Arabic daily Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Eqtisadiah business daily, Arrajol magazine and The Majalla magazine.
