RIYADH — Despite scoring eight goals for the Saudi club Al-Nassr during his first seven matches, football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has not yet been able to make his scoring mark in the club’s home ground Mrsool Park. The Portuguese star failed to shake the net for the third time at the home stadium.

The international footballer scored eight goals outside Mrsool Park — one against Al-Fateh, four against Al-Wehda and three against Damac — in the Saudi Pro League competitions, while he did not score in matches played at Al-Nassr Stadium against Al-Ettifaq, Al-Taawon and Al-Batin.

Ronaldo has always struggled to score goals at his team’s home stadium ever since the beginning of his brilliant career. It needed four matches for him to score his first goal at the Jose Alvalade stadium for Sporting Lisbon, and that was against Moreirense. Sporting Lisbon won the match 3-0 with Ronaldo scoring two goals and that was in the sixth week of the Portuguese League.

After moving to Manchester United in August 2003, he managed to hit the Old Trafford stadium only in the fifth match. He scored one goal against Portsmouth in a match that Manchester United won 3-0 in the 11th round of the English Premier League.

Ronaldo did not wait long with Real Madrid, and the historic top scorer for the Spanish club revealed his fangs in the first match at Santiago Bernabeu with a goal against Deportivo La Coruña, in a three-goal victory for Real Madrid in the first week of the league.

While Ronaldo was unable to score in his first match at Allianz stadium for Juventus, he scored in the second match with two goals against Sassuolo, when he led his team to a 2-1 victory in the fourth week of the Italian League.

In contrast to his debut with Manchester United, Ronaldo scored two goals in his team’s 4-2 victory over Newcastle, in his first match in his second term with Manchester United, and it was in the fourth round of the English Premier League.
